Question:
What kind of pain would I have if my pouch was stretched or I had a leak in it?

I am 6 months post-op and I have this pain where my pouch is. It hurts when I eat and when I don't eat anything. I have lost 74 pds and I am scared that something is wrong. I'm not getting in all my 700-1200 calories a day and I have real bad headaches and toothaches. I just don't know what to do any suggestions.    — [Anonymous] (posted on May 10, 2001)

I think that calling your surgeon would be the thing to do.

A leak will cause a fever and anyone post op who gets a high fever over 101 or definetely 103 should call their doctor immediately espically if they have belly pain.

I can't offer any help with the leaking other than to echo what the others are saying and that would be to run your concerns by your surgeon. But I noted your comment about tooth pain. I grind my teeth something terrible (TMJ) and wonder if you may have that problem. That constant pressure causes my teeth to be sensitive and ache. Just a thought.

Maybe your gallbladder is bothering you? I have read many posts in this field and it seems that it was related to gall bladder problems. I had mine removed during the WLS, so I feel fine, but ask your surgeon. Gall bladder pain is usually under the right breast and can radiate to your shoulder blades (mine did pre-op--I had stones and didn't even know it!)
