Question:
Weight loss after a revision surgery?
In 1997 I had a VBG, lost about 110lbs, yo-yo'ed and regained 120lbs. I am now considering a revision to an RNY. My Doctor claims a typical weight loss for revision patients is 70lbs, and he had seen one patient lose 110lbs. To me this doesn't sound that encouraging! I am wondering what kind of weight loses others have had?? Does what my Dr is saying sound right?? — michelle P. (posted on April 21, 2001)

I had a vbg in 1983, lost 120, revisised the vbg 1995 lost 130. I am
planning a revision to a rny on May 15. I expect to loose at least 100 lbs.
I believe that you can loose whatever you set your mind to loose. However
hard you work with your tool, it will work with you. good luck
