Weight loss after a revision surgery?

In 1997 I had a VBG, lost about 110lbs, yo-yo'ed and regained 120lbs. I am now considering a revision to an RNY. My Doctor claims a typical weight loss for revision patients is 70lbs, and he had seen one patient lose 110lbs. To me this doesn't sound that encouraging! I am wondering what kind of weight loses others have had?? Does what my Dr is saying sound right??
