Question:
Is there a certain amount of time that the approval letter is good for??
I've heard that the approval letters are only good for 30 days, is this true?? I recieved 2 letters in the mail, one was dated 1/1/01, the other was dated 1/30/01. Does that mean I only have until the 30th to get my surgery, or does that mean I have until 30 days after 1/30 to get my surgery done?? Please help, don't want to screw this up, and have to resubmit the paperwork to Aetna again. — claudia C. (posted on January 6, 2001)

I was given an approval for a consult which stated I had to have within
thirty days. The surgeons assited informed me the next open appointment
wasn't until May. She would then resubmit the request, and stated it
wouldn't be a problem since they have already appoved it. I have AETNA HMO
