Question:
Has anyone had a problem with Zinc?
Hi guys, just a quick question for ya. My hair has really started to fall out, (just started 3 month) and my doc told me to take Zinc. I bought 50mg and ever since day one have felt really sick in the stomach. I stopped it today after realizing it was because of the Zinc and I wonder if Im taking too high of a dosage. I mean I felt real bad after taking it. Any one else have this problem or have a suggestion. I am nervous even to cut it in half for I was completely useless the entire day with a whole. Thanks for your imput! Vic — VIXYVIX (posted on October 12, 2000)

Hey Vic! Zinc really helped me with the hair loss problem. If you take it
on an empty stomach it will really make you sick though. So eat something
when you take it...just a spoon of peanut butter will help.

The first time I took a Zinc tablet, I literally thought I was going to
die. It was a 50mg tablet, and I took it with food. What I end up doing
was breaking the tablet in half and taking one half in the morning and one
half in the evening. This worked so much better. Give your stomach a day
to recuperate and then try taking them in 1/2 intervals.

Hi there!! I too have had this problem. I dont know if it is related to
either the zinc or to the b12 that I was taking but it sure did make me
feel extremely bad!!! One night I was nauseaous enough to vomit blood. I
am only one month post, so that would explain away the blood since I did
some heave-hoeing on that. I am chatting with my doc now to find out...but
I have quit taking both just to be sure!!! Good luck on your quest for an
answer to this one.

I also on the first time I took a Zinc tablet, I literally thought I was
going to die.. I was so sick... Well, I even thought well maybe it was
something I ate..I tried zinc again and it did the same thing..My surgeon
put me on Z-Bec but I could not find it, someone on AMOS told me that
Walmart pharmacy keeps them behind the counter you have to ask for them..
It's a Zinc and B-Complex Vitamin with Vitamin E and C.. It's working
just great now.. My hair fall out stopped one month after I started these..
and the Zinc in these don't make me ill.
