Question:
Am I being too overanxious about this?
The official letter of request from my doctor, Dr. John Kellum of the Medical College of Virginia was sent to my insurance company one week ago. The insurance is Trigon Blue Cross/ Blue Sheild, a PPO. Does anyone have any information about this type of insurance that you can share with me. I am trying to not get nervous or over excited about this wait game but now I do not know what to expect. If you have any advice or support I would certainly like to hear it. I am pre-op and I found with me that the waiting for insurance approval
time was the worst. I did call my insurance about every week or so to keep
up with what was going on in the process. And if I hadn't done this it
would have taken longer to get my date than needed. The insurance had
approved the surgery in a letter to me but I didn't even realize it was an
approval. Neither did the surgeons office and they wouldn't give me a date
until everything was approved. Keep on the ins. and call your surgeons
office too, they sometimes have trouble keeping up with things and your
name will stick in their heads. iam now officially approved and I am
waiting for my surgery on June 14th and I feel strangely calm I don't even
want to talk about the surgery any more. just calmly waiting. I wish you
the best and I know when people tell you the time will fly by you won't
beleive it. But when it is your turn then you will be saying the same
thing. Speedy approval!!!
