Question:
Has anyone had nausea after having the drain tube removed? (1)
I'm 18 days postop from an open RNY. Today I had my drain tube removed by my surgeon. I have been nauseated ever since. This is the first nausea I've had since the surgery! In fact I went back to work today, after leaving the suregeon's office. Has anyone had this problem? I've gotten down water and some broth but can't imagine consuming anything else. Any advice would be appreciated. blessings, Ann — [Deactivated Member] (posted on September 27, 1999)

Ann,
I had my tube removed 6 days ago and that whole day my insides felt like
jelly...not totally nauseous...but very jittery. By two days after the
feeling had passed and I began to feel better. Hopefully you will too!!!
Hang in there.

I am 5 weeks post-op as of today. I had my tube removed last Thursday and
have been experiencing nausea ever since. I ate some saltines which helped
some. To get some protein, I've been trying to consume some milk.

Original poster here. I posted this question in September of 1999 -- and
somebody answered it: today!! I wonder if there is any way for the posts to
be dated so that people know how current something is before responding.
Not a problem to get an answer today, but it does raise the question of the
age of the database and if there is a need to know how old a question is.
Thanks, Ann rny 9/10/99 260/124
