Question:
If insurance denies WLS but you need gallbladder surgery can't that be primary?
Could this be a way to get insurance approval? I would be happy to pay the extra charge over gallbladder surgery to have the WLS done at the same time and still utilize insurance surgery benefits? I am borderline with BMI of 38 and unsure if insurance will approve WLS, but have been having gallbladder problems? — Barbara H. (posted on June 22, 1999)

My surgeon actually suggested this as a way to get most of my expenses
covered. The GB is the primary and then the hopsital and other related
expences are covered. The only out-of pocket you have is the surgeon for
the WLS only.
