Question:
i need to know what is good over the counter for gas
i just had too much abdominal pain and had an ultrasound yesterday. nothing definite yet but the tech said it looked like a lot of gas inside...so i was wondering what would be a safe thing to take over-the-counter. I had even thought of taking phospa soda...the thing we took prior to having the wls to cleanse out my stomach..it that too strong or maybe a mild laxative or anti-gas medicine..what is best ..pls help. — monica R. Monica, I had a terrible problem with uncomfortable gas from time to time
for the first few months after surgery. I kept a bottle of Infant Mylicon
Drops in my purse and they worked very very well. They were gentle on my
tummy and worked very quickly. Just a few drops on my tongue and I'd have
relief within a few minutes. Hope this helps!

Phosphasoda sounds awful violent at this point. Save that for the
cleansing for bowel checks etc. Gas X works and I have also now ordered
the Devrom to deal with the stench of the gas. I didn't have a lot of
problems till about 2 months ago when I started eating more carbs and more
things with sugar alcohols in them. That gives me the worst smelling gas
on earth. Even I don't want to around me then. They both work!

Let me join the Gas-X chorus! I had the best luck with the chewable form.
Hope you're feeling better!

My dr. told me DO NOT take a laxative. He recommends Gas-X and it works for
me.
