Question:
Will surgeon remove skin before I reach goal?
My stomach and arms already hang a lot and I can't imagine having to wait another year or more to have skin removed. Can I have some skin removed before goal then later have actual plastic surgery with all the tightening and pretty stuff? I've heard of some overweight people have their apron removed...no WLS. — Sarahlicious (posted on September 15, 2003)

Sarah...I have a good friend who started out weighing in the 500s she just
had her panni done yesterday weighing at around 320 and they removed
something like 42 lbs. She was having a pretty rough time with back spasms
due to the hanging skin. Best thing to do is talk to your surgeon, ask for
a plastic consult...nothing to lose in asking.

I am 13 months post op. I have lost 174 lbs. I have about 35 lbs until goal
and I have been approved for my panniculectomy. I have a lot of hanging
abdominal skin. Its so hard to find clothes and have a lost of moisture
under the skin etc. I go see the PS for a 2nd consult and schedule my
surgery date. So YES u can have PS and not be at goal yet
