Question:
question for the ladies??Can I use the pill to stop my period
coming on? I was planning on going away this weekend and do now want my period to be on. I have not taken the pill since a month before my surgery because of the clotting factor, I saw some spotting and popped three white pills(the ones when u start a new pack)The doc has done that to me before to stop my heavy and prolonged bleeding-will this stop it from coming and should I not have done that or is it ok??? — TotallyTori (posted on May 8, 2003)

I would call and ask your doctor. Some questions are best left to the
medical professionals. I would hate to give a personal opinion on
something like that and feel responsible if something were to go wrong.

I agree with Linda. Ask your surgeon. When I was on the pill (pre-WLS), I
did that like 3 times a year...to stop my periods when I was traveling for
work. It worked, and prevented the messiness that can sometimes be
associated with these lovely events. When traveling, it stinks to have to
deal with it...especially when you don't have your own shower and washing
machine handy...Good luck!
