Question:
Has anyone been approved by Great West Life & Annuity without physician's docs?

I haven't been seen by a doctor to loose weight since the 80's. I have tried plenty of diets but none through the doctor recently because of the unpleasant experiences I had with diet pills. I was approved through Great West in 2001 and have never been on an official doctor's supervised diet. I no longer have this insurance so I don't know if this is the case anymore.

I was approved by Great-west PPO in 2002 with several holes in my Doctors documentation. I was on Phen-fen for 6 months in '96 and was approved with a graph of my weight since '94 and a letter from me explaining the "holes" in my documentation were caused by my dissapointment and frustration with the medical profession and even quoted some rather ugly statements a Doctor had made to me.
