Question:
Do firming Lotions & creams help sagging skin?
I have noticed that there are a lot of firming lotions and creams out there for sagging skin. I was wondering if anyone has tried them and do they really work for your sagging skin? If so what brand and did it work? My inner upper thighs are really bad & I couldn't bare to see myself in shorts this summer. Thanks for any and all help. — Debbie S. (posted on January 10, 2003)

I don't think any of that stuff works and is just marketed as
"firming" to suck you into buying it. Unfortunately, whether
your skin sags and how bad it sags is a combo of your age (younger have
firmer), your genes, how heavy you were, and how rapidly you lost weight.
Sorry.

Our skin can be compared to a balloon, if you blow it up then let all the
air out, it has lost some of the shape, but still looks good, but have you
ever had birthday balloons around the house for a while? When you slice
the balloon open and let the air out it is all wrinkled and stretched.
Sucks, but it's true, although my Dr says that it will firm up some, it
will never again look like when we were thinner. I guess we just have to
settle for looking fantastic in clothes. Buy some knee length shorts and
be happy! At least now we have a bigger selection of styles to choose from
so we can look and feel great! Also, the Dr. said that there are no
lotions and potions for it, some people have very elastic skin and they
firm up nice, but others don't.

Still saggy as well. But I've noticed that I don't mind it as much as I
thought i would, because I perfer the sag to the skin filled with that
excess fat.
