Question:
Has anyone lost 200lbs?
I would like to lose 180-200lbs. I'm trying to get approval at the current time. I would love to hear from post ops whom have lost 200lbs or more. How did you do it? What did you eat? How often did you exercise? Did you stay on the liquid/soft foods longer than your Dr. requested? Does surgery help you with the 1st 100-130 and then you work extra hard? (or) Do you work really hard to lose every pound? Respectfully Asking, Egypt — Egypt Tashica R. (posted on September 20, 2002)

Well I am post op and have 200 lb to lose, I have lost 72 in a little over
90 days so I am hoping that I will lose all 200 before my window of
opportunity closes. I have been doing water aerobics two times a week, and
trying to walk for 35-45 minutes 3 others days of the week. I think this
is why the weight is coming off so well. I do eat carbs. (love my
pretzels) so i just walk a little longer to cover the carbs. Good Luck,
Sharon

I am 5 months post op and have lost 87lbs. At first, the weight was coming
off no matter what i did or didn't do. Then I started to exercise, just
walk. I have since built up my body to be able to do 3miles 3x's a week
and that is in a 2 hour window(I have always been a slow walker). Before,
it was taking me an hour to do just a mile. As far as I am concerned, I
still have 125 left to lose, I started at 382 and am 6ft tall and a female.
I think 170 would be nice. As far as eating goes I was on clear liquids for
the 1st 2 1/2 weeks, then full liquids for a week then went on reg foods,
mostly soft foods at first. I chew everything up still till it is like
being pureed. I know of some people who were on liquids even longer. I
lost 37 in my 1st month, so it has taken this long to lost another 50,
which I am just so excited about. I have never been this successful with
any other 'diet' I have been on. My liquid diet stages were per my
surgeon, so I didn't do them longer than I had to. This is a tool, and we
do have to work for our rewards, and no, I am far from perfect, I do have
my slip ups here and there, but I know too that if it werent for this tool,
I may not even be alive, and what actually keeps me on track is knowing
where I started at and seeing where i am and where I will be. Good Luck!

I was 1 year post op September 9th and I have lost to date 209 lbs and
still going down. I was also pregnant a month after my surgery and lost
170 lbs during the pregnancy. I was very sick however. Since the baby who
is now 3 months old I have lost another 50+ lbs. I have just watched what
I ate and I exercise 30 min everyday. I don't really work that hard at it
honestly the weight just seems to come off. I'm sure that Ill get to a
point where I have to really work at it but for now I just follow the rules
that the Doctor gave me.. No pasta, No bread! High protein an veggies. It
works for me.
