Question:
Wife has had dry heaves & diarrea for 4 days now, shes 1 mth post-op?

My wife has had constant nausea, diarrea & dry heaves for 4 days now post-op, she contacted dr on day 2 and was given regelin, which did not help yesterday, went to hospital & had bloodwork & xray of admonin, both came back fine per dr., called dr. late last nite said to go to er this morning to get admitted to get iv's and run gi series to check for cause, has any one else had anything similar and if so what was the cause and outcome? (i have read message boards and see that this is the time in healing process that the Stoma may close, is this true and if so could this be the cause)?, sorry for being so long winded    — Rich C. I'm two mo. pos op I had the same thing going on dr.s done x-rays ran IV's and I could not keep anything down not even water. I also had diarrea. I had refex so I stopped the iron i was taken and they doubled my prevacid and two days later I was feeling like a new person. I wish you luck!! It was a hard thing to deal with. I am glad my husband was there for me and I'm sure your wife is glad that your there for her.

Hi! I had a similar experience minus the diarhea. I was in hospital 2x due to constant dry heaves and throwing up. Finally my surgeon said to try dimatapp. That worked like a charm. By the way after all the tests they did in the hospital I was finally diaganosed with mucus reflux. I hope that this helps.
