I believe, but not 100% sure, that the body will use the fat as an energy
or food source. Because of the high protein, low carb intake in the
beginning, the body goes into ketosis. Basically what this is is the body
is living off it's stored fat. Kinda like when a bear fattens up for
hibernation. It's body lives off the stored fat all winter.

When you loose fat, it is not expended like a by product or waste product.
Stored fat is an energy source, it is turned into the blood stream and used
for energy. It is not eliminated by the body in bowels or urine.

I asked my doctor this same question. He said that excess fat that is
being burned is expelled through the urine.

I'm so glad someone asked this! I was wondering the same thing.

Fat is burned as fuel to keep the body alive. You don't lose fat through
the bowels or bladder. However, if you eat a high fat meal, and the fat is
not digested and stored in the body, some of the fat in the food can move
through the intestine without being digested and can exit your body through
your bowels. This is what happens when you take Xenical. I believe that
D-Switch patients have special concerns about eating fatty foods due to the
inability to digest certain fats or certain quantities of fats. In
addition, if your gallbladder is removed during your weight loss surgery,
you may experience loose bowel movements and explosive diarrhea.

I dont know about you all, but when i eat a lot of fat, when i go to the
bathroom it looks like a big oil slick. So apparently it's coming from
somewhere...
