Question:
I am developing an itchy rash under my rings. Has anyone experienced this before?
I had surgery in April of 2001. I have lost 106 pounds since that time. I have worn these exact rings every day for fifteen years and all of a sudden my fingers have turned itchy and bright red where my rings area. I'm wondering if anyone has had this happen to them? — Nikki L. (posted on October 13, 2001)

I have to agree with Barb. The lose rings did cause some chafing. Dry
skin was also an issue. I find that the best lotion for me is Neutrogina
(sp?) hand cream. Also, another issue with me was hand washing. Sometimes
I think that the soap stayed under the rings or on the rings and didn't
rinse off. Hope this helps.

I get the same problem occasionally. Since I'm pre-op it sure isn't from my
rings being too lose. I agree with the soap theory. I think the soap gets
under the rings and the fact that water probably gets trapped too long
under them also causes the rash. Usually when it happens to me I take the
rings off for a couple of days. Skin goes back to normal.

Ive had this happen from time to time. I agree with the others..also a bit
of some cream might help. Like E or cordizone..but mine always happens
after i eat shell food.
I have this reaction to the shells only.
