I am developing an itchy rash under my rings. Has anyone experienced this before?

I had surgery in April of 2001. I have lost 106 pounds since that time. I have worn these exact rings every day for fifteen years and all of a sudden my fingers have turned itchy and bright red where my rings area. I'm wondering if anyone has had this happen to them?
