Question:
Does anyone know of a surgeon in the Philadelphia area that specializes in revisions?
I had open rny in 2002 and without proper education. Two days after my surgery I was given a full meal to eat and was told I wouldn't heal properly if I didn't eat it. Horrible horrible experience. I had 2 surgeries in the years after for hernias, scar tissue on bowels and an abdominal wall reconstruction. I lost about 70 pds and have since gained back 45. I am so ashamed of myself and I don't know where to start for help. — cher220 (posted on August 24, 2009)

Check out the Bariatric Surgeons at Hospital of the University of PA.... I
had my surgery on 7/23/09 with Dr Williams (rated as one of the top docs).
There are a few doctors there and I know that one (sorry I don't know his
name) specializes in the more at risk cases. I would give them a call (You
have to go to a seminar and they tell you all about the drs then).
Before my surgery I did a search for Bariatric Centers of Excellence... HUP
is one, Jefferson is another and I believe Drexel is the third in Philly.
You definately want a center of excellence!!!
Good Luck!!

I don't know if it's to much of a ride for you, but they also have a
center of excellence in Reading.
