You need to joinn a support group in your area ASAP. This has helped me
sooooo much

You need to try really hard to let go of bad eating habits. I am 3 months
out and have found myself snacking during the day which is what got me to
374 lbs. But I do catch myself and stop. Perhaps a support group would
work for you. Keep your head up, it really does work. I lost 30 lbs the
first month and then nothing for the second and then I started losing again
the first day of this month, so it's frustrating sometimes but with time,
it works. Good luck and God bless.

My surgeon sent me home with a meal plan that included all sorts of
unhealthy foods. If you know the food you're eating that aren't helping you
STOP! Immediately! Eat protein (lean meats, nuts, legumes, etc.) Chew,
chew, chew everything so many times that it drives you crazy... But really
at 3 weeks you should stick to semi solids (pureed beans, cottage cheese,
thick soups that are liquidfied, etc)... Read the book "Before and
After" by Susan Maria Leach.
Congratulations on making a new step in your life, be safe and put your
health first. You are in control of your destiny okay.

Katie, You have to just hang in there. It is very important to be compliant
especially at this stage. Things should not be going in your pouch that are
not allowed, There is still alot of healing left to be done inside. You can
risk you health by doing this. I am also 3 weeks out. I work in a Bariatric
Hospital and I see the results of patients that are non compliant. If you
don't belong to a support group please find one. Best of Luck

Katie, talk with your nutritionist to come up with a meal plan that can
replace the dairy you don't like or hide it in the foods you don't like to
get you through the stages you need to get through. You made it through
this far and you don't want to sabotage yourself. I to don't like alot of
the dairy products but I do like low fat skim milk so I have the carnation
instant drink for breakfast sometimes and sometimes I have an egg, I also
use the milk in my cream soups that way I am getting the extra protein, I
also like the sugar free puddings that you make and you have to use the
lfskm for that. Hopefully you are able to tolerate a little milk products.
Don't give in to your head, follow your doctors orders and you will make
it. Join a support group talk with your doctors and nutritionist this is a
new beginning for us, we are yet to come from our cacoon a beautiful
butterfly and we can do it. Just hang in there.

I had my surgery the 12th of December and my worries are very simular to
yours. I have tried the protein shakes and they make me sick. I can't
drink anything but my kids Capri Suns and water. I have been eating pretty
much everything, just in much smaller amounts. I lost 25 pounds in the
first few weeks and then the weight loss stopped. I think as long as your
not eating the amount you did before surgery and you are exercising you
will be okay. Good Luck!!
