Question:
Feeling bloated over pouch

I am 4.5 months out from an RNY and I have been having this feeling for almost a week but it comes and goes. Doesn't seem to be associated with any type of food and I don't have my gall bladder. It seems to happen about an hour after I eat and is quite uncomfortable. No pain, just this fullness right in the middle under my rib cage. Anyone else ever experience this? Should I call the doctor? Could it be an ulcer starting? I am on NSAIDs due to spinal stenosis (with my surgeon's approval) but I'm still worried about developing an ulcer (I'm also on Aciphex so he feels it's safe). Also, have had bouts of diarrhea over the last week. Thanks for any advice.    — jemanuel (posted on July 13, 2006)

Sounds like it's either a virus or gas which I take "Phazyme" which is simethacome for this problem daily. some medications cause looser stools or soft ones I take Nexium which does this to me. I'd still let my surgeon know since NSAIDS do affect our tummy's a whole lot more then regular folks. I totally came off my pain meds for my DJD due to fear about ulcers and my hypersensitivity to most medications especially in NSAID family :(

I got that when I ate too close to drinking something or drank too close to eating something. I have to wait at least an hour between the two.
