Question:
Can you have lap band over RNY ?
Had GBS, RNY done 9 years ago. Lost only 70 pounds alot through weight watchers. Went to another surgeon he said original surgery left pouch way too large. Original surgeon no longer doing the surgery. Can I get a Lap Band over a RNY? — beachdog (posted on February 10, 2012)

There is a revision to the RNY. Not sure of the name but you can research
it.

I'm pretty sure I've read that yes you can have a lapband placed over RNY.
Check out the revision forum.

I believe the procedure that's done to adjust the RNY pouch is called the
ROSE procedure.

Yes, my surgeon, Dr. Michael Snyder in Denver at Rose Medical Center does
it.... it's called "Band over Bypass". But you have to really
work hard to convince him that you are worthy of the extra effort. If you
have not followed the rules of the tool, and regained a significant amount
of weight since your bypass.... you'd have to have a pretty good reason,
like you didn't have continuing support groups or your original surgeon
didn't do enough pre-op education and post-op follow-up, or you had an
undiagnosed medical condition that caused your body to retain the weight
you should have lost with the bypass...
Hope this helps.
