Question:
Gallbladder has to go...How many have had gall bladder removed after Lap RNY?

I had my Lap RNY Jan 31, 2008. I had a gallstone before the surgery but the surgeon wasn't comfortable removing both at the same time. I am told there may be a scar tissue issue, has anyone been through this before?    — heartsablaze (posted on May 27, 2008)

hi tracy- had open (my request for open ) RNY 3-24-04. I had GB removed and navel hernia repair at the same time. Your GB OP will be a piece of cake, if you have it lap, and you will feel sooooooooooo much better with it gone :) Good luck Cindi - 230#

I had my gallbladder removed 4 months after my RNY. The pain was minimal and I was back to work in 2 days. My surgeon used 3 of my previous incision sites to remove the GB.Good luck Paula

I just had my gall bladder out less than a month ago and had my lap RnY Oct 30, '07. I went in for surgery at 1230 in the afternoon and was home by 730 that same evening. Good luck and you will feel so much better! -- Lori

Hi there, I had my lap gastric bypass on november 17, 2006. I had my gallbladder taken out july of 2007.

I had mine removed and an umbulical hernea repair the same time I had my open RNY on 8/22/06. The only scar I have is about a 5 " scar from my breastbone down. They did a scan and found 2 gall stones while they were doing pre-op testing prior to surgery. Peggy
