Question:
Can't sleep, anxious, weak, tired-5 days out!

Hello all! :) As you saw from my title, today has been probably the worst so far. I am so paranoid about blood clots that I have dreams about it, ugh! So I got up @ 6:30AM to walk around (after having moved my feet all night in my "sleep"). I suffer from panic disorder, so this just has me in an uproar. I am having trouble getting in all my water and protein, so I felt really weak today too. When the dr's office says to 'sip' your water, how much should you be taking in on that 'sip'? So, on top of being tired, weak, anxious, shakey, paranoid...I'm not getting in all that I'm supposed to! Any words of wisdom? Thanks : )    — 1fatgurl (posted on September 4, 2007)

Hello Nancy, Bless your heart! The best that I can say is try and RELAX. It sounds like your making yourself over anxious. Just do the best you can. As far as the water intake do what you feel comfortable with. If you can sip a little do that, if you by chance can sip more at a time then do that. It will all come in time, trust me. Don't beat yourself up, take it one step at a time. It will be okay! If you feel too over anxious call the surgeons office and explain what your going through and they can help. Best of luck to you.

it is common to have trouble getting in your water and protein at this point. I am 3 months out and still have trouble getting it in. Sip means just that sip. I am now to the point that I can start to have swallows but you have to build up to it. It is ok to be tired . it took me about 3 weeks before I really felt better and did not need to take an afternoon nap. Just relax you are doing fine.

Hello, I felt almost the same as you did worring about clots and wondering if I am getting what I need. The best thing is to RELAX, REST, and also get what EXESICE you can. There a days that will be worse than others. I am 8 months out. I can tell that it does get better with each passing day. But, if you do supect a problem CALL your doctor or nurse. They are there to HELP!!!

Hi Nancy, I was extremely fatigued for over 2 weeks and my Dr and I tried everything, including B-12 Shots. Then my Dr told me to take B-12 tablets-the sublingual kind that dissolve under the tongue so your body gets all the benefits. I've had AMAZING results and my g/f says I'm a new person with all this energy! The pills (I take 2500mg) are inexpensive and well worth it! Cherry

Nancy, the hardest thing for me was not to chug or gulp a large mouthful of liquid. it would come right back up. i kept small shot glasses next to the sinks to remind myself to drink small amounts often. sipping is hard. rubbermaid makes a tall container for liquid with a spout, and poland spring makes their green lid easy to sip. it also fits every other bottle of poland spring. take it easier on yourself. it will take time.
