Question:
I am 8 weeks out from TT & 2 hernia repairs
I went to the gym on Saturday for the first time since my surgery for TT and Hernias. Since Sunday night I have been having this very painful stinging on the left side just under the TT incision. The stinging is really bad. Is this a muscle stinging? Should I call the doctor? — MARSHA D. (posted on January 15, 2003)

I would say call your Dr, but when I had my second c-section I had that
kind of pain and I was told that it was the nerve endings trying to heal.
I have had 3 c-sections and only had that pain with the 2nd becasue I was
the most active after that one.

Marsha, I had a tt and hernia repair in Dec. 2002 and I also have been
having stinging pain on my left side, but mine is above my incision. It's
not that bad and it's very fast and happens infrequently. I think its the
nerves healing so am not worrying about it, but if yours is that bad maybe
you should cause your surgeon.

Sometimes things are a coincidence so you should definitely check with your
doctor. Myself at 3 weeks following the touchup (including crotch lift
& lipo) of my tummy tuck I did some cleaning, including moving some
bigger boxes. I had a burning stinging pain in my left abdomen and assumed
I pulled a muslce. WRONG. I ended up with a lurking infection that within
a couple days of the start of the burning pain turned into a big abscess.
The infection spread quickly and I ended up in the ER and having emergency
surgery. Not saying that this is your situation. Just letting you know
it isn't wise to assume its just a pulled muscle.
