Question:
I had my band put in 5 days ago.Im not getting hardly any protien,or water in.
I am in pain with every swallow.How do you releive constapation at the stage?Im getting maybe half of the waterand protien in.Treadmill walking also 20 min a day so far.Can you add like benefiber to water?I think thats part of my pain,gas problemhelp anyone?Also,makes me really upset to watch other peolpe eat..normal? — rosesrbl (posted on February 28, 2010)

I was told not to do exercise until 4 wks out, other than walking and some
leg lifts etc., I'm not sure how the treadmill would be, i have the
elliptical and doc sd no, until 4 wks. However it is very important to walk
a lot to pass the gas that will build up. I used gas x alot and senekot s,
which is kindof pricey, some stores like kroger sells generic and I take
max dose morning and night with water. It is good to take short walks often
throughout he day. Hope this helps, I am 2 1/2 mo out from the band. My dr
recently told me that miralax works well too and is now over the counter

I had lapband on the 18th and went through the same thing....I am still
having some integestion and burning in my throat. They put me on Previcid
twice a day. Call the Dr. if you are having cont. pain swallowing....they
may tell you to take some antacids. You have to get the water in...very
important. I am taking the protein that Walmart sells and I like it. What
you are going through is all normal.....I posted a similar thing just a
week ago. You'll start feeling better soon. But call the Dr. with your
concerns...I did.

I sipped water continuously. In addition to protein drinks.
I did have a problem with constipation and to my consternation - did not
get a response from my surgeon's nurse. However - taking constipation
medication (Milk of Magnesia) and walking - that did the trick. Not as
soon as I'd hoped (ten days for me) but it did the trick.
