Question:
Post Op Since Januar 16, Not seeing any change in my body. How long until I do?

Hi all, I had surgery on jan 16th. It is six days before my one month anniversary. How much longer will it be before I start to notice a change in weight? I feel as if I did this surgery for nothing. None of the clothes in my closet fits me anymore loosely before surgery. When will I start going down??????    — Luscious1 X. (posted on February 10, 2003)

Well for me it took at while. I am 10 months post op today...down 142 pounds. I don't think I look much different...but on the other hand, I do see it. Did you take any pre op pictures??? I recommend taking pictures on a regular basis so you can really compare from month to month. I didn't do it, wish I did. But, it have seen others and it really helps. BTW, how much have you lost so far??

I am 4.5 months out and have lost 55 pounds and can not see the differance yet either..Its gonna take time. I read your profile and your doctor said you lost 22 pounds, thats great! You also mentioned that you are eating bad in small portions?? Arent you suppose to be on liquids for about 6 weeks? be sure and follow the post op diet or it could hurt you not to mention slow your progress. The surgery helps you but you have to do your part..as we all do..GOOD LUCK!

Hi, You don't mention what type of surgery you had. With some types of WLS, you can eat most foods without "dumping". Unfortunately, it's this "dumping syndrome" that helps keep people from eating the things they shouldn't eat. If you were a "lightweight" to begin with (I noticed your pic said you weighed 230), then you will be slower loser. I don't know about you, but I have never lost 22 pounds in a month and if I'm able to get the approval, I'll be ecstatic with losing 22 pounds. Just be patient and follow the Dr.'s eating instructions. The weight WILL come off. Good Luck.
