Question:
Lapband Revision Questions
I was just wondering if anyone had the LapBand and then had a revision surgery to the Gastric Sleeve? I had the Lapband on 09-07-07 and I have only lost like 25lbs and I feel I am trying to make this work and I know that the weight loss is slow but is it really this slow? I would really appreciate anyone's suggestions? or anyone that has had the Gastric Sleeve did it work for them? — AngelKay34 (posted on April 3, 2008)

There are a LOT of people on the sleeve forum that had the band and have
either had a revision to the sleeve or are getting one. I had the sleeve 10
months ago. I was at goal (normal bmi) in 6 months and have lost more since
then. I have lost a total of 91 lbs (I only had 74 to lose to be in the
normal bmi). I went from wearing a size 22 pants and 3x shirt to wearing a
size 4 pants and small shirt. I LOVE everything about the sleeve. I can eat
whatever I want, but some things just don't sit very well with me (pasta).
We don't have the constant reflux that some banders end up with.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I had the revision also but from the band to RNY. No problems at all, went
from a size 22-24 to a 12-14 so far. Read my previous posts on my revision,
best thing I ever did.
Best of luck to you!

Avg weight loss w/good restriction is 1-2 lbs a week with the band.
Remember that that good weight loss does not start until you have good
restriction. I lost 22 lbs my 1st 4 months. I've lost 50 the next 6 months
D/T better restriction.
Before the cost & invasion of a second surgery, I would suggest talking
with your surgeon & nut. to see if you are where expected. Good luck,
