Have you tried the the chewable papya enzymes tablets after you eat a meal to help your digetive system? Talk to your health care provider & see if they have any suggestions. Also, have you tried drinking hot to very warm liquids 30 minutes after you have eaten?

Don't eat tortilla anymore. Very hot liquid are not good to drink. But what I find comfortable for my pouch is a cup of chamomille tea at warm tempreture or spearmint tea. drink it very slowly. For a while until you heal the pain try to eat soft and mashed food (like mashed potato or apple sauce or even baby food. Take your time chewing and relax after you eat. Don't lay down just stay up or take a small walk. This should help you. Remember don't drink until at least 1 1/2 hour after you eat. No cold water only wamr or room tempreature. No sodas. I hope I am able to help you Dani

If you are in a situation where you cannot eat or drink liquids for 24 hours you may be need to get in touch with surgeon, to make sure you do not have a stricture. Even though some may tell you that a stricture is rare after that time post op, that is erroneous. I had 6 strictures almost 4 years post op caused my an ulceration in the stoma. Hope your feeling better soon. A simple scope will tell them and set your mind at ease. I cannot even make myself throw up if something is stuck...just doesn't work for me. Take Care.

This happened to me recently (I am 3 years out) and I took ibiproferin (sp) every four hours. Mine was caused from inflamation/irritation. You might give this a try to see if it helps.

I know you are not gonna like my answer, but when i get blocked up like that, its from something i ate and it is blocking the opening from my pouch, the offending food has to come out, completely, no matter what you ate after that or drank, it only works if the offender is jarred loose, if sipping water a bit at a time wont work, throwing up is the only option except surgery........... which would be terrible.......... if the sipping dont work, drinking something nasty or very different like V8 has helped....... not felt good coming back up, but it works. You may just have to heave harder......... i hate saying that, but i have had quite a few blockages since surgery in 2001 and thats what i have to do. For me meat, especially chicken, or turkey, or another horrible one is rice... and i love rice too............. hope it helps or at least makes ya feel not so alone in it all. Kim
