Question:
Anyone over 60 yrs old who had to have the greenfield filter

I was advised by my dr that I would need to have the greenfield filter put in before surgery, because I just had knee replacement, because I was older, and perhaps because I have been on hormone replacements. It is really upsetting to me, as I do not want to take coumadin. I know too many people who have bled to death or suffered stroke like symptoms and had to learn things over. ive read alot about the filter and its very helpfull in stoping blood clots

Hi, I had a filter placed 10/03, even though I am not over 60, I am 43 and I feel safer knowing it is there. You can find lots of info on www.fvleiden.com and google for greenfieldfilter, they have their own site. you can email me anytime. Lisa postop lap/rny 10/23/03 340+/172/???
