Question:
can anyone help me with a strong appeal letter to united health?

i was wondering if anyone could help me with a strong appeal letter? i have united health choice plus hmo and was denied because of an exclusion. my pcp and surgeon are more than willing to write them on my behalf. any help is greatly appreciated!    — Kerry R. (posted on April 17, 2003)

Hi there! Sorry I can't give you the exact words here, but there is a book about wls by Michelle Boasten, and it has a good sample appeal letter in it. It helps you lay out all the diets you've tried, any co-morbs, why this surgery is so necessary for you, etc. I think the book is only like $12 if you can't find it at the library. Good luck!

I am suprised I haven't heard of them denying anyone.... If it were me I would ask the Drs. to write them, also search around on the internet there are many examples out there, too bad I don't remember any specific addys for ya.... GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!
