What kinda caloric intake are you taking in..even though it isn't fried
foods if you are getting the calories in your body still doesn't have a
need to burn fat..also increase your activy...this will help the most

I did Atkins also prior to surgery. I lost 9 pounds. Get the book from
the library and get going! Good luck!

I think Atkins would be a good way to do it, I lost about 60 lbs on atkins
(but I have 40 of it back now) plus it will get you more focused on protein
which you will need to also be sure to get enough of post op, as well as
watching/restricting sugar.

Atkins is not the best idea for obese people, as it is very hard on the
heart. The high ammount of fat and protein can do a lot of damage to your
body and liver especially prior to a major operation. I would do weight
watchers. If you follow the 123 plan to the tee, you will have a huge
weight loss your first week. I am trying to lose before too and I lost
almost 12 pounds my first week. And don't forget excercise!!! That ALWAYS
works. Ask any doctor about Atkins and they will tell you that it's not a
good idea for a heavy person, who's heart is already strained. You want to
be as healthy as possible going into surgery, so do it the healthy way!

STOP your sugar intake as you will need to in the future anyway-Throw out
your soda. If you can walk even if its slow and not far. Cut your fats
back to under 13 grams per serving.
Wishing you much success
