Question:
I have to take an urine test
I'm 10 years post op and I have to take an urine test for my job , I want to know how long does it take wine (3 glasses to be exact) to leave the body and how can I flush it out, I drink a glass or two of wine at night because I have trouble falling to asleep, I'm 45 and going though menopause, I'm going to stop drinking but can you tell me how to flush out my body and what can I take to fall asleep? — rebedeb (posted on January 19, 2010)

You shouldn't have anything to worry about. Alcohol leaves "our"
systems pretty fast. Drink lots of water and it should work. Also when I
can't sleep I take some Tylenol PM. Hope this helps.

Alcohol is a drug. I work in the justice system and we do drug testing all
the time. If you are only drinking a glass of alcohol at night you should
be OK unless the requirement for the job is complete abtinance.

By the way, don't try to "beat" the test. They can tell if you
used anything to alter your test results.

I don't know about the alcohol, but I take Tylenol PM and it works well, if
you don't drink a lot of caffeine during the day. If I have too much
caffeine, I also take half of an Ativan, but they are additive and
prescription. But the Tylenol works pretty good. It takes about 2 hrs to
work, but it you want to sleep by 10 take it at 8, and go to sleep or be in
bed when it kicks in. Don't try to fight the "sleepy" part or it
might not work as well as you like. At least that is what I have noticed,
and I have been taking it for awhile. It is non addictive.

I agree with the others, just do not mix the alcohol with any kind of
pills.
