Question:
Any former c-sections who also had RNY still have apron
I have had 3 c-sections and my stomach has hung like an apron for the last 2 years. I am also considering RNY and am wondering that in a year or two did anyone still have that horrible apron or will I still need platic surgery. I'm 5' 1" and 254 lbs. — needtobehealthy (posted on March 24, 2006)

I had a c-section in 1980, it left alot of scar tissue so I had adomnoplaty
in 1994 before I had rny in 2003. After Rny and losing 134 lbs I have an
even flatter stomach than before. I have lose skin on my upper thighs,
which I conceal very well under my clothes and I am in a size 4 now....I
also weighed 254 on the day of my RNY. I am 5'3" tall and 120 lbs
now. I use an ab-lounger and a bow-flex daily and walk 4 miles a day. I
walk 2 miles during my lunch break from work and 2 miles at home. Exercise
helps tremendously but we are bound to have some lose skin. RNY was a
great decision for me....it cured my diabetes and high blood pressure and
possibly saved my life. When I have a special event, I go the day before
and get a body wrap at a spa. This helps tighten my skin temporarily.

I had C-sections in both 1997 and 1998. It used to hang to my knees, but
did shrink to a mini skirt. This skirt is my biggest problem with the extra
weight. I am planning on having L-RNY. I asked this question to this sight
and all comments were positive that there would be no problems for
L-RNY-WLS. I hope they remove my Gallbladder at he same time too. I asked
about this too. Just to give you more extensive thought; I am over forty
five years old at this writing.

The skin will not shrink to a desired size, post -op you will have more: I
am 5' 2" at 266 and I will be glad to have PS for my extra skin in
that area, if nothing else I'll count my blessings for a better looking
stomach zone.

LOL! almost all of us that didn't have "aprons" before grow them
after losing 100-200 lbs! You have about 125-150 lbs to lose . . .
Count on having abdominoplasty later! :o)

I had RNY in July 2005. Started at 296 and 5'3". I had three
c-sections, and three hernia surgeries prior to that. So, yes, I had a good
size apron even before the surgery. I have lost about 116 pounds total, and
my apron is MUCH smaller but there is still quite a bit of skin hanging
down. I expected that, and it doesn't really bother me very much right now.
I will worry about the Plastic surgery to remove it when I get further into
the weight loss, maybe in a couple of years. I want to see what time does
first, before I go under the knife again. To be honest, as long as my
clothes hide the apron well, I don't care very much what is hiding
underneath(neither does my husband) because it is much more attractive than
the extra weight I was carrying for all those years. Just my humble
opinion. Hope it helps.
