Question:
Bloating lasting a long time
What could Bloating that lasts a long time be caused from? It is very discomfort. Yesterday I ate some pizza, and every since then I have been boated pretty bad. for 24 hours now. Not sure if it is from the pizza, or if its a bowl blockage, or ulcer, or hernia? It is not bad painful, just bad discomfort. And it worries me. I am about 4 years post op. I haven't put ANY food in my stomach at all today. Any ideas? — [Deactivated Member] (posted on October 22, 2005)

Also, just wondering if the bloating could be caused from taking my Ferrous
Sulfate iron on an empty stomach yesterday with orange juice??

Hiya,
My Name is Jo... I am a four year post-op also and I will do that if I eat
the wrong things. Or if I eat to much. And Im not talking just a little
bloat. Im talking my stomach will get huge like im 9mo Preg. If I drink to
much milk I bloat, to much fruit will also do the same, or if I just eat to
much altogether. I found that the more I stick to my basics the better I
feel. Three meals a day no snacking in between meals and stick to more of
your water and protein type stuff. If I do that I dont bloat at all. Best
Wishes. Feel free to e-mail me at anytime. I think you can clik on my link
from this posting to get my e-mail addy. Take Care

I agree with the other posters. It could very well be the pizza, or too
much pizza. I feel bloated if I eat more than a few ounces at a time. The
things that cause bloat are different for each person. My neice, who had
the surgery almost a year and a half ago, can eat almost anything and not
have any problems.
Congratulations on your four-year success!!

I just wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to resond to my
qustion. Today is the next day, and I am feeling much better. Most of the
bloating is gone. But, I am going to make an appointment with my Dr. to
make sure everything is ok. Thanks.

I get bloated and feel sick for hours from any processed flour product
which expands significantly in my stomach. Products include pizza, pasta,
white rice, white bread. Whole wheat doughs, in moderation, cause no
problems. It's as though my body refuses highly processed products which,
regretably, don't include sugar. Linda
