All I can say is that I haver found that some of the symptoms you are describing can be caused by certain foods. For me it would be high fat or sugar content, or eating a lot of beans or peas. Sometimes I have had relief by eating probiotic yogurt, again though, it must be low in sugar.

Sometimes you have to coat your stomach with something creamy like milk or soups. Of course fat free or skim milk and lactose free to calm the gas down. As for the soups try brothy like onion, potato, vegetable and soups with rice and meats (chicken and beef). I found these to be helpful when I am having gas pains and constipated and/or loose bowels. It seems to straighten me out and get me on the right track. The warmth should help with your ulcers too. I hope this helps. Please let me know.

If you are having trouble with lots of gas you may need to cut out milk. It is in a lot of protien shakes. You might want to try an elimination diet to see what foods agrivate your condition. go back to clear liquids for a day then add one new food at at time. if it causes a problem you know not to eat it. It is alow process but can work well for eliminating your need for medicines for loose bowels and gas. The pouch remains small. It is just that it is now healed. We no longer have pain, but discomfort comes from over eating. Measure your portions and plan your meals stay high protein and low fat, low sugar. Avoid white starches, bread, rice, potatoes, pasta. Cook meeat in a broth or sauce so it is not too dry. Avoid fried foods. hope you are feeling better soon. It is a struggle to figure out how to eat.

the gas is probably food related. the ulcer is a not-that-uncommon side effect/complication after rny. i had an ulcer at the connection 4 years after my surgery. you will need to take medication to prevent acid production. this will should be taken , probably, for the rest of your life.
