Question:
Ever take prescribed Cardizen CD? Swelling?
I am waiting for approval for weight-loss surgery. I have swelling in the lower legs and BIG lumps on the inner-thighs that make walking harder, not to mention wearing pants! I have been taking Cardizen CD (for blood pressure) for years and saw recently on the Internet that one side effect is swelling of the hands, legs, and feet. Anyone else have this problem? If so, did you change meds and if so, did that help? Thanks so much. — Ferrante (posted on February 25, 2006)

The swelling in your lower legs possibly could be from the Cardizem CD. It
also could be from venous insuffiency or varicose veins from being obese.
The lumps on your inner thighs are from your legs rubbing together causing
friction and infections. If you've taken this drug for years it's unlikely
that these things are caused by the drug, reactions to drugs happen within
the first few months of starting them.
Good Luck on your approval
