Question:
Blood pressure differences between left and right arms...anyone else?

I've noticed lately that my blood pressure is much higher in my left arm than in my right arm. My readings are almost normal in my right arm. I told my surgeon that and he wants me to see a cardiologist just to make sure nothing is amiss as part of my pre-op tests. Has anyone else had this happen before??    — Sandra S. i wouldn't be alarmed. Sometimes my doctors office can't get a reading in my right arm but can in my left and that will be normal. My sister had high blood pressure so they often took hers in both arms trying to get a number to right down that wasn't so bad, most the time it worked!

For me it is vise versa - I am low on my left side (heart) compared to my right. The doctors noticed this after my last couple of angiograms. Seeking information is the right thing to do. Don't stress. Think good thoughts!!

I had that once, so my pcp order an urgent sonogram of my corotid arteries , that would could be indiciative of a blockage of the corative from colestroral, or a clot, a finding not to be dismissed, most likely as in my case, even though the bp was taken several times by different people, it was a fluke and nothing was found.

My blood pressure is also lower in my right arm. I make sure to use that arm every time I have my blood pressure taken.
