Blood pressure differences between left and right arms...anyone else?

I've noticed lately that my blood pressure is much higher in my left arm than in my right arm. My readings are almost normal in my right arm. I told my surgeon that and he wants me to see a cardiologist just to make sure nothing is amiss as part of my pre-op tests. Has anyone else had this happen before??
