Question:
Has anyone's hair not grown back?
I am almost 6 mos post op rny and have been losing hair for about 3 months or so. My hair has always been so fine and thin anyway and now there are some places that you can see through to my scalp. I am worried that it won;t come back. I take biotin, use nioxin products, get my protein in, etc. Any thoughts on this will be appreciated. — bikermama (posted on October 18, 2008)

Hi Arden
I had the same problem. The solution: A vitamin D deficiency!!! Have
your doctor check for it. The last thing I would have expected it to be!!!
Good luck and let me know how you make out!

After 3 mos of losing hair is about the time it starts coming back!
Hopefully you will begin to notice short hairs coming in along your face
line very very soon. Someone mentioned labs...That wouldn't hurt to see if
you have any deficiencies or lows that could aid in this problem...Take
long hair and pull it back with your hand...then brush your finger tips
forward at the hair line to try to see if there are any fine hairs growing
back in...You should notice fine peach fuzz growing back any time now!
Good luck!

With fine hair you need to always use volumizing shampoo and conditioner -
I have fine hair as well. I was loosing mine too which I was told is all
part of the process but it stops. I'm also taking folic acid it helps as
well. I've got new hair coming in according to my hair dresser. Had to
have it cut shorter because of the hair loss but wit the new hair coming in
it can all grow longer later. Hope this helps some.

I have never yet heard of someone's hair not growing back. It should after
4 months for sure.
