Sip on water, milk and even broth. I had to do an anema (sp?)because of the
gas and walk as much as you can. It will pass you may need to do an anema,
I did. Do it and it will feel much better.

please don't feel like you shouldn't have had it done, it will get better,
just take it slow and easy, for the gas, try gasx strips, they help some,
walk if you can.
i regretted having the surgery for the first month, but I had an
incision that was swen to something inside me, and the first month, I
couldn't even walk, when it broke loose I felt much better, but for a month
I hated myself for what I had done, now 7 months out, 55 inches smaller and
98 pounds less, i am so so so happy I had it done, just remember it will
get better as you heal!!

I have been there! Rub alchol wipes under your nose it will take away the
sick feeling. As for the gas you need to get Gas-X strips use them as
often as you need them. You also need to get up and walk for 10 minutes
every hour. Marching in place will also help with the gas. I know it will
get better. All the best.

Walk walk walk...The gas will pass...The nausea will begin to get better
too. There will be times you regret having the surgery...I think most of us
at some point have that feeling of "What did I do to myself?"
But it fades and it gets so much better...and as you begin to lose weight
and keep it off, and you begin to get healthy and agile, you realise how
much you were missing...and it's worth it...IT'S SOOOOOO worth it...Two
days is not enough time to start having regrets...You had MAJOR
surgery...Get up and walk off that gas! That will hurt too by the
way...Crush up some tylenol tablets...

I know exactly how you are feeling. I am 3 weeks post-op Lap RNY today.
The gas was horrible at first. The Gas-X truly was a life saver. And as
everyone else has said, WALK. It will get better. Hang in there!

Try to stay away from dairy for a couple of days because it can make the
gas worse. Drink decaf tea, and broth as warm as you can tolerate it.
Peppermint tea is a natural gas killer, Celestial Seasonings name brand has
it. We give that to our babies when they are very small and have gas. It
will start gettting it to move. Also, moving as everyone else has already
posted is one of the major keys, if you dont move that gas is just going to
sit there. Good Luck! It does get easier!

Everything you are experiancing is normal. Don't get to upset yet. This is
not the easy way out and the first 10 days were the hardest for me. I did
get better!! Give it time. Best of luck

I had to walk the gas off and it was very hard, but worth it. I also found
I needed a lot more B12 then I was taking so I still have to take
injections. Your might be just getting the drugs from surgery out of your
system. The first 6 weeks are very hard, but after that period you will
beging to look and feel like a new person. Best of luck to you. You can
do it and we know you will.

wanted to die but I promise walking does help and it will go away soon. You
will feel human in a day or so. Try to drink lots of water or broth. Don't
get dehydrated. I promise you will feel better soon. I will say a special
prayer for you take care.

Chicken broth helped with the nausea. Only 2 weeks out and down 33 lbs..
Don't regret it!

I'ts too early to start regreting anything...give your body time to heal.
Did you receive a stomach binder or band to help support your stomach?
Make sure you wear that whenever you are walking around. It will really
help support your abdomen, especially that upper left quadrant that hurts
the worst. GasX was a miracle worker, take it whenever you need it. I am 3
weeks out and can promise that after week one, it gets easier every day :}
Best of Luck

Hi, walk walk walk........Also, something that really helped me was to
drink hot jello water. Just get hot water and add maybe 2 or 3 teaspoons
of sugarfree gelatin, stir and drink. Believe it or not, it really helps
with gas....plus it adds to your water intake! Magdalena

I'm just 5 days post op and found that I have to force myself to eat and
drink on schedule. Also, if I brush my teeth after each meal I tolerate
food better because I lose the after taste of the protein drinks.

Hun:) I feel u, I'm 10 days out and i felt the same way u did. I even
thought it was the worst thing I could have done to my self. I start
sipping on water, and walking. The worst thing to do is lay around, get up
and move little at time. Trust me it will get better. Hang in there.

just relax and breath deep you were under anesthesia, my doctor placed me
only on a high protein milk shake with soy milk for the first month, it
really minimized the side effects. Hang in there you will be fine, it takes
some adjustment but you will be ok

I am realizing that I am not the only one who wanted to die the first week
of surgery. I am 3 weeks post op and I do feel 100% beter then I did at
first. Try drinking you protein as much as you can and get the milk in,
that also has protien. The more fluids and protien you get the better you
will feel. As for the gas. My Doc, recommened Bean-No, and it worked
great. I wish you a lot of luck, but once you see the weight coming off
you will be glad you had the surgery

call the Dr. see if you can use dramine [atches to help with nausea and
lightheadedness. I had one in the hospital and it really worked. Remember
to breath deep and fill your lungs. This activity helped with some of the
pressure even though I was sore. The last thing walk, walk, and walk get
the body moving to move the gas.

Congrats, I remember saying "I made the worst mistake of my life"
When I woke up, it gets better. Warm liquids help pass gas. Fenigren (sp)
for the nausea Dr. will perscribe liquid. Good luck.
