Question:
Am I eating to much at my lunch meal?

Hi all, I had my surgery on March 25, 03, started at 355 down to 235. I know my weight loss is fantastic, but my question is am I eating to much for my lunch meal. I start my day with 2 scoops of Carb Soultions mixed with 8oz of water 20 grams of protien. Around lunch I have 8oz of diet lemonade mixed with amino fuel 22 grams protien. Then for lunch I stop at Taco Bell or some other place and get someting, I've been getting a mexican pizza and am able to eat 3/4 of it, and am a little concerned that I'm eating to much, I can't eat like this at every meal, seems like only for lunch. I work nights, so around 8 I have 1oz of meat and 1oz of cheese, then come home at 12 and have another carb soultions 20grams of protien. Just want to know if you all think this sounds acceptable. Hey, when you used to go to Taco Bell, what did you eat? I used to have two burritos, a quesadilla and a huge Coke. So what do you think? Is 3/4 of a normal size serving too much? I think you know the answer <<wink>>.

I can eat a combo #1 a burrito and a taco... I don't always finish the burrito, but if I drink w/ it I can...

I may be overstepping my bounds here, but it appears to me that you are relying too much on protein supplements and not eating enough real food. My surgeon suggest one protein supplement daily and three meals. Other than that, I think you are doing ok. I eat about half a quesadilla from Taco Bell occasionally.

My lunch is usually larger than my other meals. I find that I'm not generally hungry at dinner and just have something very, very light.

Mine was 6/11/02. I was 300 and am down to 170. I used to worry about eating too much all the time. As long as you're exercising and getting in at LEAST 64 oz. of water then you'll be fine. Just try and watch your carbs. I can get a good amount in now. I concentrate more on what I eat. If gets to be a concern ask your doc for an upper GI. I had one a month ago and all is well.

You are probably able to eat that amount at lunch because you haven't had any "real" food all day. Yes, you are getting protein, but that is in the form of a liquid. You should try eating another small protein meal mid morning and cutting out a protein drink. Otherwise, I'd say you are doing fantastic!

Sounds good to me. Except the Amino fuel is probably not a complete protein. The others are, however. I also prefer to do protein drinks & small meals. It makes my head feel good, if you know what I mean. I don't feel owned by or bogged down by food. I get my protein from shakes, and have 4 small meals per day, but a meal can be just some carrots for me. I don't want to be force fed anything--that's the last thing I need. My weight is stable, labs are lovely.
