Question:
Has anyone ever gotten the 1 yr pre existing waiting period wavied by BC/BS?

MY INSURANCE IS WITH BC/BS AND RAN INTO THIS PROBLEM AFTER PHONING TO ASK IF THEY HAD RECIEVED MY INFORMATION PACKET. THE REP I TALKED TO ACTED AS IF THERE IS NO WAY TO GET THIS WAIVED. IS THERE?    — [Anonymous] (posted on April 5, 2001)

Did you have insurance before you got BC/BS? If you had insurance continously for the 18 months directly prior to the start date of BC/BS, then they have to treat that as their 1 year waiting period. (This is a real good reason to bite the bullet and pay those COBRA payments when you change jobs. That way your coverage won't drop for 3 months or whatever while waiting for your new insurance to kick in.) Other than that, I have no other suggestions. Maybe somebody here will. ((((HUGS))))
