Hi! First of all, I'm NOT a doctor and I strongly encourage you to contact
your Bariatric Surgeon and Family Doctor. I'm certain that you are not the
first person this has happened to in this type scenario. Secondly, I'm
sorry that your family has come down on you for whatever reasons. However,
PLEASE do not make any sudden rash decisions regarding your pregnancy.
Remember that your mother gave you life! There is a reason why things
happen and sometimes we don't have all of the answers. There is a famous
singer (I think Carnie?)who went through this same surgery and got pregnant
and delivered a healthy baby. You may want to google. I will pray that
everything works out for your best interest and that you will be able to
move forward regardless. God bless you!

You are not the first person that has gotten pregnant after surgery. I
have had friends that have had surgery that got pregnant within months.
It's amazing when you lose weight how fertile you become! I think many of
us believe that we have an inability to have children, and then when a
pregnancy occurs after the weight loss, it is a huge shock. If you choose
to go through the pregnancy, I am positive that your MD will be supportive
and help you through the pregnancy. You will need to see your nutritionist
so that you have a strong understanding of what to eat so you remain
healthy and maintain the healthy lifestyle. My heart goes out to you
because it is a tough decision; however, you will make the best choice for
you. If you should worry about anyone coming down on you, it's you. Commend
yourself for the positive changes you have made. You are at the beginning
of a journey - not the end. 11 months is nothing to sneeze at. I'm almost 6
years out, and boy has it been a roller coaster! Good luck to you!! Prayers
coming your way!

My friend got pregnant about the same time you did. Just call your
surgeon, I bet he will say you will be fine.

Like and earlier poster stated others find they get pregnant after
bariatric surgery. Happened to my GF 2 years after her gastric
bypass......The decision ultimately has to be yours...not your family,
friends or OH posters but when you list your reasons you only state
"health" reasons but never that they are "life
threatening." Most health problems can be maintained safely throughout
a pregnancy life threatening cannot. Remember just as in pregnancy it is a
decision that will be with you throughout your entire life.....just make a
decision you can live with. Will keep you in my prayers.......

Its been 2 years this month since my surgery and I found out in May that I
got pregnant in Mexico earlier this year. I'm having my baby boy in 40
days from today. If you want this baby... let the choice be yours. What
everyone else has to say doesn't matter. Good Luck

First of all Congrats!! :) Second, Tell your doctor so you can begin to
plan your pregnancy! My sister got pregnant 6 months after her gastric
bypass surgery and my nephew is perfect! :) It happens! :) I am a year
and a half out from my sleeve surgery and my husband and I are starting to
talk about baby number 2! :) I was at my goal weight for surgery then
found out I was pregnant! :) You are now in a healthier place and even
though we cannot eat a lot, you can still be healthy and pregnant! :)
Again, Congrats! :)
