Question:
has anyone experience sagging skin in throat?
I had my tonsils out when I was ten. After surgery, I developed a tonsil in the back of my throat. I developed white stringy stuff from my throat and it began burning. The dr. thinks it is a yeast infection and gave me some anti-fungi medicine. The lump is still there. He also said that it is not a stricture because I was able to drink and take my meds without incident. However, he did leave me on liquids because I had a feeling as if I had a lump in my throat. I have now progressed to week three and beginning week four in a few days. The dr does not know if this will go away. — wendy1966 (posted on March 9, 2009)

Did the anti-fungal medicine clear up the burning and white stringy stuff?
If not, you may need a different medication for a longer time. My guess
(and keep in mind I'm not a doctor, don't even play one on tv) is that your
new "tonsil" is some sort of
inflammation/growth/infection/scarring caused by the breathing tube. If
you finish the anti-fungal and still feel the lump, you might want to ask
for a referral to an ENT (ear, nose, and throat)doctor.
Good luck to you!

I never heard of this happening but I'm not a doctor. I had hernia surgery
after my WLS and developed a hard ball in my belly. The doctor said it
would probably go away but to see him if it didn't. Well, after a few
months it did go away - probably was just some swelling. Anyway, you're
doing the right thing by keeping your doctor informed. Maureen
