this is a very easy question. Call the insurance company or the hospital.

I have Mass Health but my partner has Free Care/Uncompensated Care Pool. I
believe that the coverage you have is only good for the hospital. If you
had the surgery, all the expenses from the hosptial would be covered but
you would still have to pay for the surgeon separately. I believe that the
Uncompensated Care Pool only provides money for things specific to the
hospital. If your surgeon was employed by the hospital (highly unlikely),
then it might be covered.
The easiest way is to just call Mass Health and ask (or call the hospital).
I think that at one time the Uncompensated Care Pool was run by each
specific hospital but now Mass Health has taken it over.
Good luck and feel free to email me if I can be of more help.
