I just started taking B12 injections yesterday. I have to take them weekly
for 4 weeks, then I have to take 2,000mcg per day. My B12 was extremely
low at my last check-up. In researching B12, it's my understanding that a
lack of B12 causes weight loss and appetite reduction, not the other way
around. I'm not a physician, but that is my understanding. My suggestion
would be go back to phase one of your diet post-surgery. Start with protein
- things like greek yogurt, eggs, cheese, fat free refried beans, cottage
cheese, etc. Retrain your pouch. See if that helps? Best of luck.

Hi, taking B12 shots wont help you loose weight...it will help you with
your lack of energy or fatigue...ithe phentermine appetite supresants will
help you with the lack of energy you may be feeling and it will stop your
hunger, thats if your feeling like you have to eat all the time, but since
it is an aspirin based medication you would have to be put on another
medication to prevent ulcers wich you would have to take every day....If
you are having problems with your eating your best bet would be to go back
to your first stage and retrain not only your pouch but your brain as
well...remember its mind over body...have you gone to any of the support
groups or have you seen a counselor to help you....maybe that is something
you should do as well.....dont overwelm yourself and think about how it was
right after your surgery...good luck

Hi! I've been giving myself B-12 shots for about 8 yrs. and it does not
keep the weight off. I had gastric bypass RNY open on Jan. 8, 2001. Lost
118 lbs, gained approx. 22 lbs back and now I'm back to really watching
what I eat. If we don't get a handle on what makes us eat, we continue to
gain our weight back (boooo!) Good luck!
