Question:
Can I drink as much as I like after the operation and I go on with my life ?
Thank you all so much for the answer to my question about my problem with dry mouth. I am afraid I wasn't clear in my question. So I will try again. After my operation is over and I go home. Will I have a limit to what I can drink. Because I have a really dry mouth from my meds and am not sure if I can carry a water around with me. I think you'll be fine drinking as much water as you want. It is
encouraged to drink water - at least two liters a day - and helps with the
weight loss. Be careful how much non-water drinks (juice) you have
though...they can add up in calories.
Good luck.

Water will be your best friend. After surgery you will need to drink at
least 64 oz of water. But in the beginign, you might find it difficult to
drink as much. I recomend adding crystal light to you water. That seemed to
help for me. Good luck !!!

Can't drink enough water-ever. Be sure to take a good "liquid"
vitamin / mineral supplement like VEMMA. Go to www.TrySomeVemma.com

Stopping your fluids 30" prior to a meal and not restarting until
30" after is a good guideline. You will avoid filling your stomach
with fluids and if you drink with your meal, the solids can mix with the
liquid to form more of a slurry that will pass more quickly to your
intestinal tract and you will not get the feeling of fullness or
satisfaction from the meal.
As everyone has said, water is great and Crystal Light can be a life
saver. Diet soda's carbonation can stretch your new stomach and esp. if it
has caffiene it may stimulate your appetite and increase your urge to
snack. Too much tea without enough water intake during the day can also
contribute to possible dehydration since the caffiene is a diuretic. If
your are a newbie post-operatively you will need to sip fluids until you
can tolerate a usual swallow of liquid like prior to WLS.

yes you can drink too much at one time. My pouch empties slower than
normal so i learned the hard way and spent 6 hours in the ED yesterday with
an upper GI. Do not drink past the full feeling even if you are sipping.
I thought liquids would pass right out-- wrong for me. Listen to your
body!!!!
