Question:
I am at 7 wks post op from the sleeve. What should I be eating?
I am not sure how to eat now. I can tolorate most foods and have progressed to solids but I can't figure out how to eat just 3 oz. of anything and if that is all I should eat at a "Meal". If I can have cooked veggies, do I just pick one to have 3 oz. of or a variety and 1 oz. of each? I am only down from 230 to 204 in 7 weeks, not sure if that is average for the sleeve. — ashley315 (posted on September 15, 2009)

You are going great with your weight loss! you can eat either way just make
sure you do not over eat. Stay on your plan the Dr. has given you. It is
better to loss it slow and you will keep it off. your mind will tell you
your not eating enough, but eat until you start to fill full, then stop
right away! make sure to get your protein in, it is very important to your
health and hair.

I am at 6 wks post op from the sleeve. At 7 weeks, according to my
instructions, you should not be eating more than 3/4 C total at a meal. Be
sure to eat your protein first, and if you get full before you get to the
other things on your plate -- STOP eating. It's very important that you get
your protein first. If you want to eat more than protein, measure your
portions accordingly so you'll have room.
Good luck

As the others have said, getting your protein in the most important. That
will prevent hair and muscle loss. You are doing fantastic with your
weight loss, congratulations! For breakfast eat things like egg beaters or
eggwhites scrambled, cottage or ricotta cheese turkey bacon maybe a little
apple sauce. Canned chicken and tuna are good for lunch or shaved turkey
with soft cooked veggies, low fat cheese, more veggies. Jello, sugar free
pudding, low fat yogurt, all are good. Avoid any sugar, high fat crackers
like Ritz or Town House. No alcohol or carbonated drinks, or high sugar
fruit juices. Eat on a saucer instead of a plate. Fix yourself a small
plate with some of everything and you will be fine. STOP when you begin to
feel full or you will stretch your pouch. Beans of any kind are a good
choice for protein. I get a mexican fix with refried beans and a little
salsa sprinkled with low fat cheese. Italian, Ricotta cheese mixed with
spaghetti sauce with low fat mozzerella on top. Meats should be moist.
Boiled, or baked rather than fried or grilled. Keep up the good work!
