Question:
What can I take to help get rid of stinky gas?
I know this is kinda gross but I don't know what else to do. I am 1 year post op RNY and I've been experiencing really stinky gas. I can't hold them in because I get a really bad tummy ache. Does anyone know if there is something I can take? I've tried beano and gas x and neither help. — amylbarron (posted on August 4, 2009)

Devrom is an internal deodorant that is supposed to be good for that.

I've heard/read this is due to incomplete digestion of certain starches. I
think you may need to try and keep a food log and see what foods make this
the worst and then reduce or eliminate those foods.
I have had the same experience and this has helped me.

I have tried the Devrom, really didn't help me. I learned here about the
probiotics, and the Phillips Colon Health capsules work great for me! they
are about 10-11 bucks at WalMart. I take one every day and my husband has
noticed the difference!!!!! Deb

Devrom (I buy it online) the internal deodorant works wonderfully. I just
take one capsule a day, and what a difference. I "tested"
whether they worked or not, and stopped taking them.... I am a believer,
and now take them faithfully!

That's everyone for your suggestions. I will try them and see if any of
them work for me.

The good ol fashioned way: Let em rip. My husband thinks I am a truck
driver at times, but know ya do what ya have to do to feel comfortable.
Whatever you do, don't hold them. So, I say just let em rip. Really, that
is true. But pay attention to the foods you eat, that way you can keep a
mental log of foods not eat. Pretty much everything gives me gas and I am
3.5 yrs post op. I don't take anything for it though. I should but; I go
were if I let a fart, I won't fly out the window. Best wishes
